Getting Healthy

I'm getting healthy....
in just three short months.....

I had my blood checked again yesterday and the doctor called and gave me the results....

Total cholesterol went from 220 to 170!!!!
LDL (bad cholesterol) went from 126 to.....92!!!!
Triglycerides they are improving still not in the normal range but I'm getting there they went from 300 to 250
Doctor said to keep up what ever it is that I am doing and I could come back for more blood in 6 months!!
I've lost 20 pounds since September, but I'm mostly glad I don't need to be put on any medicine for my cholesterol!!

So there it is....

If you didn't get one there are two possible reasons

1) I don't know you address...

2) I'm lazy busy....
but more than likely its the first one!

Where else but in the South?

Where else but in the south can you...in the same school semester
1) have a week off of school due to a hurricane
2) have a day off for a snow day
3) three days later be able to wear shorts to school???!!!!

Snow Day... in the deep south!!

Yep It was a snow day here and the kids had a great time. I sent them to school and then at about 8 I went to get them.

It started snowing at 6:20 this morning, about the time Marshall was getting on his bus, but it was just flurries in the air and not sticking to the ground. Then Nathan's came at 6:32, and by that time it was starting to stick. I sent them to school thinking that it would be over in a little while, well the news said it wasn't going to subside till noon!!! So I went and got the kids from school...good thing because the buses weren't running this afternoon anyway, so I still would have had to get out and get them. I didn't stop snowing till 11:30 or so..and here are some pictures. We got nearly 6 inches of snow today!!!!

A Wonderful Day

I know I'm a little late, but ain't I always.....

So Yesterday was a Wonderful Day...

My Son...... This one the oldest...

He took the walk down the isle.....

NO NOT THAT one...

For months now he has been talking about accepting Christ into his heart and life and wanting to be baptized. Well yesterday at church he decided he was ready and made the walk down the isle to the front of the church to tell our pastor that he was ready. This is a big step for him, just walking down the isle to publicly profess this is big for him as he is an extremely shy person and always thinks everyone is laughing at him. Our pastor told him he was so very proud of him...our pastor and church have been with us every step of Marshall's journey so it was a wonderful day indeed!!!

That Time of Year Again.......

Christmas Pictures....
This past weekend I had the pleasure of torturing um taking the kids pictures for our annual Christmas card. They absolutely hate love doing this.
Below are some that I attempted to take and see what I can do with them. Most of them are straight out of the camera...I have a trial version of photoshop and have yet to figure out how to do anything with it......I'm very un computer savvy.

(I'll put up the Christmas card later, we are at Marshall's infusion and I have no way to scan it to put on here and I'm too lazy tired to get the camera out and take a picture and put on here.....You know the drill)

First I took a picture of the two little ones....

This one would have been cute, but I didn't realize that the flower was in Amelia's face....

So I tried to photoshop it out and this is what I came up with.....

Not sure I like Amelia's face, she looks like a chipmunk.

I Did Something Stupid!!!!

I really did...I don't exactly how it happened it happened so darn fast and I am paying for it. You see our golf cart that was given to us by my parents has been having a small problem that when you switch the gear from F (forward) to R (reverse) it sorta keeps going forward. Well I pulled an Amelia(http://notesfromthedungeons.blogspot.com/2007/09/damages.html ), only problem is I didn't wreck the van, I wrecked MYSELF!!! Yes it was stupid. I had the golf cart on the front porch to charge it....

Well this morning when I was trying to get it backed out of here so I could get Nathan to the end of the driveway to catch the bus...Which is about a football field away from the house. Well you see that post just left of the door well it is a little bent now. My leg is bruised, see when I told you I did something stupid...well not did I just crash it, stupid me had my left leg hanging out the side of it and when I went to push down on the go pedal to try to get it to go into reverse it went forward and my leg got pinned between the post and the golf cart and it is totally bruised and sore. My body went one way and the leg went the other. I was most upset because Nathan was on it with me and I was worried about him, but he was fine and untouched. I think he was just worried about me.

I didn't get to the gym today and I'm not sure if I will make it tomorrow, I can hardly put weight on it..it does feel better when I am up and moving so maybe the treadmill at a slow and steady pace. I feel like a clumsy clown!!!
