Last day in Vegas

Ok to finally finish up our Vegas trip! I know you all are just so thrilled, but Vegas was a wonderful trip for us.
We got up and packed everything up as we had a plane to catch later that night. We checked out of the resort and headed over to the Paris hotel where some other great friends of ours were staying..(hi Heather!!) We visited them for a little while then we headed out for lunch at....

It was soooooo GOOD! and we found out they have one here where we live and we are going there this coming Saturday night with some great friends to celebrate my birthday! I can't wait. I know we will all have a great time!
Anyway after we stuffed ourselves silly, we still had some time to burn before we needed to hit the airport. SO we decided to take a trip to....

This place was awesome, we were all a little sad that we decided to visit it on the last day. The views were breath taking....

Here is a short video I took while driving in....

Then it was time to head back to town and hit the airport for the plane trip home. By the time we got the rental car back and checked in and through security, we had just enough time to make it to the gate and it was time to start loading the plane for home.

I was a little sad that our time in Vegas was over, we were after all having a great time, but I was so happy to get home and see all my kiddos! Of course we didn't really get to see them till Monday afternoon. We arrived home at about 2:30 am and the kids start getting up at 5:30am so after we got them on the bus I went and took a nap for a while. Well that should be all of the Vegas vacation pictures and Vacation pictures too...well at least until Feb, when we are off to the Bahama's on a Disney Cruise for Amelia! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Cont...Vegas Day 4

Hopefully all Hell will not break loose and I can get thru this post. So day 4, we ended it pretty much how we began it walking up and down the strip. They, not I were suppose to ride the coaster at New York, New York, but they were too cheap to pay to ride it. I just out right was not riding it. I wanted to get a tattoo while we were there but my husband wouldn't let me. He said he'll take me to someone he know here who is very good at it. I want a heart with wings on it and MANS under it with a halo above the S...That's for my kids. M-Marshall, A- Amelia, N-Nathan and S-Seth. That's if I get brave enough and figure out where to put it and it will be something very small. Dainty... Any way back to Vegas... As the sun was setting we headed over to Fremont Street....
We loved it here it was pretty neat to see. The whole two blocks were covered and every hour came music with the light show on above.

The old Golden Nugget..This one I remember from like at least 30 years ago when my mom went there!
Ty wishing..probably for both the girl and bike!!! lol

We left Fremont Street and headed back up the Vegas strip..the lights were beautiful at night and I have video of the fountains at the Bellagio hotel...it was beautiful to watch it set to music at night more than at the day time!!

We spent time on the strip and then headed to the resort and finished up our drinks that we had from the night before and just hung out. I have videos and as soon as figure out why they aren't uploading I will get them up on here!

Sorry it took so long but we have been doing homework and getting ready for a few exams tomorrow!

Day 4 in Vegas...

Day 4 was Saturday and we got a late start due to the long 4 hour drive back from Arizona Which was OK because Vegas is a city that sleeps all day and parties all night. But don't let that fool you and think that the streets are not crowded during the day! We decided to spend our day on the strip and see as much of it as we could. We started out at the Tropicana.

(fountains in front of the Tropicana)
They were giving free pulls for a chance to win a car and if you didn't they gave $10.00 of money to play in their casino. So we collected and played our $10. I think I did the best with the money they gave me I made $45.00. After that we headed over to the Excalibur

They were giving away ten dollars to if you showed them another casino's players cards. So we collected from there and played, I one another 25 dollars and got two free buffet's. So not so bad for not spending any money and made $70.00. We ate and then hung around, they have all kinds of shops and stuff in all of the casinos on either the second floor or first floors...here are a few picture from some of those...
just had to add this in here!!!

Ty being silly.

Then we just spent most of the afternoon and evening walking up and down the strip. Took a bus trip up and down the strip and after dark we headed to Fremont street. It's the old strip where the "Rat Pack" use to hang out.

There was so much to do and see that we didn't fit it all in. At the Mandalay Bay Casino is the bar that is completely made out of Ice everything in it is ICE...It's called Minus 5, there is a cover charge of $30 and that includes a parka to wear and one cocktail. Needless to say we weren't spending 60 bucks to just go sit on ice and drink one drink...

Well I am going to post this for tonight, I will pick up day 4 tomorrow...night all....

Day 3 in Vegas...Grand Canyon Adventure...

We programed "Sweetie" for the west Grand Canyon. Well I shouldn't say we, I should say Wilt!
Wilt said we don't need a map she will get us there. Well it was another one of those days it took us almost 7 hours to get to the Grand Canyon...don't ask but we had fun and made a lot of stops along the way. It was my turn to climb behind the wheel of the Commander. I let the guys sit in the back and relax and enjoy a few drinks. Well "Sweetie" took us the scenic route...yep Route 66, but when she said we arrived at our destination, well it was in the middle of no where. Never let a man program the GPS!!! Susan re programed her to get us to the South Rim. Which took us another hour and a half.

We finally arrived at the Grand Canyon at 3:00, we started our Journey at 8:30 or so that morning and if we Wilt would have programed her right, it would have only taken us about 4 hours of so...depending on how many stops you have to make along the way. I have to say though we had a great time!
Our first stop on the way...
We arrived!

It was breath taking and absolutely beautiful!

We decided to ride to a little town just south west of Flagstaff, called Sedona. It was so much more beautiful than the Grand Canyon and well worth the 45 minute of so ride there! We started out journey at elevation level of 6,000. I would have gotten more pictures of the road signs and all if I had not been the one doing the driving...I have no idea how many mile the road was to get into the town, but it was a twisting and turning road going down the mountain. It had numerous hairpin turns! When we got to the bottom there was a sign that said elevation 5,000 feet. But the views from here were just so unforgettable. We all said we wished we would have had more time there. Unfortunately we got there right when the sun was setting... Arizona is a place I definatly want to go back and visit!!!!

There were red rocks everywhere! We decided we need to grab a bite to eat and settled on this place

We found out that this place was one of the oldest places there and was a place where John Wayne him self frequented! The food was pretty good. We got an appetizer a combination plate. It had fried cactus which I must say was pretty darn tasty, buffalo meat and yucky fried snake...sorry I just couldn't stomach it. I had had buffalo before and it was ok, nothing I would rave about!!
The snake...
The Cactus...

The snake well I tried to bite into it, but it was real gummy and well I just couldn't swallow it!

We finished the night on the quaint little strip and then headed back up the mountain for a 4 hour ride back to Vegas. It wasn't quite 4 hours. It took us shorter to get back because we took mostly interstate home not Route 66!!!

Well that was about it for the day.

I will get to 4 later, first I have to go get dressed for my high school reunion! I can't believe I was talked into this. Some days it seems like just yesterday and others it seems like a life time ago, and I suppose in a way it was...
