Here We Go Again......

please keep this area in your prayers...we are yet again in the path of another pretty powerful hurricane. We are stying here for lack of funds or a place to go.... I have to be honest with you, I am quite nervous. The eye is forcasted to pass very close to us, and right now it is moving more east than west. we have huge oak trees around our house...I pray that they do not hit my house, they can hit anything else....
You probably won't hear from us for at least a week probably longer, before we get power back on.

Please if you are reading this please keep us in your prayers.....
Blessings.....

Scopes, Hurricanes and other pains......

Today we or rather my husband is preparing to be scoped...both ends....
these will take place today at 12:30 or 1:00.
I am hoping that they will let us know at least a little something today as I suspect that the whole area here will be shut down for at least the next week, unless of course this hurricane takes an extreme west course...
Which means they will not be going back to school on Tuseday or for the rest of the next week.
I'm not looking forward to being stuck in the house with 3 nervouse kids and a very weak husband. But I will do what I have to do...

Trying to Find The Humor.......

Well I know all the sayings.....when life throws ya lemons ya make lemonaide...you play the hand you are delt.....yadayadayadayada.

Well when we landed in the ER this past Thursday night...well I tried to find the humor in it, I wasn't there for one of the kids which would be ones first thoughts as we have three and two of them suffer from a terminal illness (for those of you who don't know) called Fanconi Anemia, which is of course is a blood disease among other things. So back to the ER trip, we were there for my husband, he had been complaining a few nights in a row after coming home from work about his left leg being swollen and a little sore, didn't think much of it, he is a police officer and has been flagging a lot of school zones with school started around here, and has been on his feet a lot and this is the leg that about nine years ago a tree fell on him and he had to have a steel rod put in it. But tonight he came home and took off his sock and you could see the significant swelling in it and it was a little warm and kinda red around it, at first, he thought something bit him but them he said he didn't see where anything would have bit him. I asked my mom what she thought, he asked his mom what she thought, well needless to say we all came to the same conclusion.....a blood clot...well you know how hard headed men can be...No its nothing I'll just go to work and then try to get a doctors appointment on Monday......
Well my aunt died just a few months ago and it was from a blood clot in the leg, so with much urging from the women in his life off to the ER we went. I told him that would be fine if they tell us it is just a pulled muscle or a bug bite......I really don't mind looking stupid fot that, actually I wouls prefer it.
We arrived at the ER for about 9 pm. They took us into the triage room and got started and then out to the waiting room, a little while later we went back to ultrasound, then to the waiting room then back for blood work then finaly back to a room in the ER, first thing they told him is we need to start an IV. I thought OK we aren't going home any time soon ( that was about 11:30). The doctor came back in and said yes it was a blood clot...but don't make any calls or anything yet we have to wait on some more results before we talk about a plan of action so more waiting then back agian and she says it is a blood clot, but not the kind that can kill you, she said it was on the outer veins not a deep vein. Ok thought we would be able to go home soon well we waited and waied and waited they came in and did some kind of blood pressure thing where they messure it laying flat for a few minutes, sitting straight up for a few minutes and then standing for a few minutes.....we waited some more, then the doc came in again...a female at that, and said I need to do a rectal examine....my husband was like what I came in here for a blood clot in my leg what does that have anything to do with any thing. That when she said well we have had some other stuff come up in your blood work and well you are this close to needing a blood transfusion..your hemoglobin is 8. What is normal...14-17 for a male....OK here is where I try to find the humor...at least it is a little bit of something that I know about at least I have been dealing with blood and blood counts for nearly 11 years!!!!

Well he ended up not getting the transfusion, but had to go to his doctor ASAP...so we did and well they took more blood and threw out things that it could be, but we won't know till the results come back...in the mean time we just sit tight and wait.......

So that is where we are now waiting again the story of my life............

First full week of school for the older two.....

Well this will be a little short and sweet. Amelia had a first great week. Still no results from the bone marrow biopsy. I e-mailed Minnesota about some results, but they said that our local hospital was doing testing on some and would get me the results...I have a fear deep in the pit of my stomach that, that is not happening here...i have a fear that they only took what Minnesota needed....I'll call them on Monday, if that is the case they will not be doing another on for a while!!! I am not going to put her through that.

Marshall, well his week has been quite different. I have to say though he has handled it pretty well. Friday (last) he came home and he was all upset and to the point where he was almost in tears, well of course that only made me in tears. I had to call the principle. There was one kid that Marshall had in every class except his ROTC class, which, by the way, he loves!!! This child had picked on him all day long calling him names and making fun of him and calling him a retard....They switched his classes around and Monday he only had him in two classes, Monday was a great day, but Tuesday, Wenesday and Thursday was much of the same. Well by Thursday 7th hour, Marshall had had enough and went over and hit him in the back of the head, now I know that it is wrong to hit...but there is just so much one person can take. The thing is, is that three different people knew that this was going on and no one did anything till Thursday...a displinary guy called me and said he had had Marshall in the office for hitting and I asked him if I could talk to him(Marshall)asked him what happened and asked if it was the same kid and he said yes...I proceeded to tell the guy on the phone told him that this has been going on for a week now. Well he said that this is the first he is hearing about it and that he would get to the bottom of it and that it stops here!! Finally some one who was going to take some action. It ended up that Marshall had to do a one day in ISS, which I understand it is wrong to hit and like I told him Marshall does NOT go around just hitting people for no reason, Marshall usually doesn't hit anyone unlessw he is hit.... So I am praying that next week since they finally corrected the other kid that this is all worked out. Kids are so cruel these days, but what get me is...Marshall is in some special ed kids and this kid is in the class too, well seems to me he would be what ever he is calling Marshall!! So I really would like to ask for prayers for a MUCH, MUCH better week for Marshall and that this kid leaves him alone....

On another note today was the very first day for Nathan to go to school, today just the kindegarten boys went and on Monday only the girls will go, and Tuesday they all go....Well we went to his testing on Wed, he did fine, but when we got in the car he told me..."mommy I don't want to go to school, I wanna stay home and be your baby." I told him that he will always be the baby...so I just knew this morning it was going to be a struggle and that he would be clinging to me....Well we got to his class room and got him settled at a table with some puzzles to play with and then I leaned over to him and told him I had to go and asked if I could have a kiss because I didn't want to get lipstick on him and he looked up and me and said...NO just go mom ( like I was embarrasing him) so I did. He did great and had a great day and is ready to go back!!I enjoyed my kid day free...Didn't do anything special vaccuumed out the van, took some pants to the cleaners (Marshall's ROTC), went to the bank went to Wal-mart and then home to a nice QUIET house..no TV or anything on I just sat and listened to nothing!!!Well this wasn't as short as I had wanted it, it's late and I am going to bed, I'll try to upload the pictures I took of the two of them in there sholl uniforms, they looked like twins today!!I'm glad that tomorrow is Saturday I hate getting up at 5(the kids are all out the door by 6:45, my day starts early)

Blessings....
